Digital Ready Regional Schedule Advice
With the national switchover to digital television now underway, people are being advised to ensure that they know the date of final switchover in their area.
"With the digital television switchover occurring in phases between now and the end of 2013, and occurring in different parts of Australia at various times, people need to know when the final switchover will take effect in their immediate region," says DGTEC spokesman Steve Mannion.
"Getting ready for digital television is not complicated at all. But people do need to start thinking now about whether it makes sense to upgrade their television unit, or purchase a set top box or personal video recorder to ensure they are ready with the necessary digital television equipment."
The Australian Government's online initiative www.digitalready.gov.au offers an extensive range of information about the digital switchover. Television owners can also confirm when the switchover will be complete in their their region by viewing the regional schedule information in the DGTEC online Learning Centre.
